Brainstorm – Second Smile | VG+/VG+ | $85
Spiegelei ‎– 28 596-5 U | Original German Pressing

Vinyl has some hairlines and sleeve scuffs, with some larger scuffs on the A side. B side has faint hints of ‘ghosting’ from a plastic inner sleeve leaving an impression over the vinyl. Plays with a bit of noise, but nothing serious / Sleeve has some light creasing near the edges, lamination is in really nice shape. Only real fault is a drill hole at the bottom left.

Absolutely one of the finest Kraut-Jazz albums of the 70s with touches of Canterbury playfulness.

Delirium ‎– Lo Scemo E Il Villaggio | VG++/VG+ | $20
Vinyl Magic – VMLP 145 | 2009 Italian RE

Vinyl has a few hairlines and minor scuffs, probably closer to EX / Sleeve has some scratches/scuffs, but retains nice crisp edges.

All over the map and with a more jazzy touch redolent with flute, this is what makes Italian prog great.

Delirium ‎– III (Viaggio Negli Arcipelaghi Del Tempo) | EX/VG+ | $25
Vinyl Magic – VMLP 126 | 2007 Italian RE

Vinyl has one or two marks, otherwise would be NM / Sleeve has some creasing at the top edges, a small corner bump in the UL corner, some disc impression at the left, and a few other minor abrasions.

A heavier approach with more folk elements make this their most reminiscent of Jethro Tull.

Egg – The Civil Surface | VG++/VG | $40
Caroline Records ‎– C1510 | 2nd UK Pressing (1976)

Vinyl has some marks in the run-ins and a few hairlines, but otherwise bright and shiny gloss and looks more NM overall (I’ve had a few copies of this, and it isn’t the best pressing – even flawless NM records will play with some surface noise in the quiet parts, in my experience) / Sleeve has some light creasing, faint corner wear, actually very crisp edges.

Third time’s a charm with this one – maybe you guys might want to crack open the RP!

Premiata Forneria Marconi ‎– Storia Di Un Minuto | VG+/VG | $70
Numero Uno ‎– ZSLN 55055 | 1/72 ‘Deep Groove’ Press, 2/74 Sleeve Date

Vinyl has a good deal of light hairlines and some sleeve scuffs, but still retains good luster. A side plays fantastic with minimal noise, while the B side has a bit more surface noise in quite parts, and the occasional pop or click / Sleeve has wear to edges and corners, some creases along the edges. Corners have some small bends/dents, and are worn at the spine. Faint disc impression and some indentations here and there. Fragile ‘wallet’ style gatefold still in excellent condition with only a faint tear at the bottom.

For me, this is one of the greatest Italian albums there is. If you’ve searched for this on Discogs, you’ll know listings are separated by the truly fine print of the date code on the lower right of the back cover, and whether the label has the ‘deep groove’ as seen here. I’m not sure how scientific this is, as sleeves could have been printed later after the wax, or vise-versa. Either way, this is a nice copy and ‘of the era’ rather than a truly later reproduction. All recent RE sound terrible.

Klaus Schulze – Black Dance | VG/VG | $3
Virgin Records ‎– 27044 | 1976 Benelux Pressing

Vinyl has a number of sleeve scuffs across most of the surface, hairlines, and a few larger marks. Will play with noise / Sleeve has wear to edges and corners, some creases along the edges, some chipping at the spine. Light disc impressions, and price sticker on front. Small 1″ tear on the back at the opening.

Obviously not the best copy, but cheap!

Tangerine ‎– De L’Autre Côté De La Forêt … | VG/VG+ | $30
Crypto ‎– ZAL 6421 | 1978 2nd French Pressing (with Original 1975 Sleeve)

Vinyl has some hairlines, and a few small, non-raised scratches (mostly on the B side). Plays with a bit of noise, but still enjoyable / Sleeve has wear to edges and corners, some creases along the edges. Lamination is still in good condition with no breaks, but shows abrasions.

Not sure how these two were separated and joined together in an non-matching pair, but there you go. A great album of psyched out folk rock.

Univers Zero – 1313 | SEALED/VG | $20
Cuneiform Records ‎– Rune 20 | 1989 US Pressing

Sleeve has a 2″ seam split at top, a corner bend at the top right corner, and a drill hole in the lower right. Shrink is tight, but not so much that it has visibly warped the sleeve.

Wapassou – Wapassou | VG+/VG++ | $45
Omega Studio – PS 37342 | 1988 French / Japanese RE

Vinyl has a number of scuffs and hairlines, but plays with minimal noise / Sleeve has some minor wear to the corners and edges, a larger crease at the lower right corner, otherwise really quite nice. The back looks perfectly fine, I just forgot to flip it when photographing!

An absolutely stunning and unique album. The Omega Studio RE was produced for both the French and Japanese markets – the only difference is the OBI/Insert. This came with a photocopy I will include.

Still Available from Past Friday Sales

Arco Iris – Los Elementales | G+/VG | $50
Cabal ‎– LPL 9013 | Original Argentinian Pressing | No original printed inner sleeve

NOTE: Vinyl is in decent condition overall, but has a real issue with what seems to be adhesive residue stuck to a few places on the run-ins, and in the first track on the A side. I’ve given this multiple cleanings, and it is as good as it will ever get. The major problem is really only with the first few minutes. There are some larger marks on each side, but none that are as drastic as the first track. No skips, just pops and clicks. I gave it another play last night to refresh my memory, and after those first few minutes (which are fairly percussion heavy and hide the pops pretty well), the rest of the album plays really, really well for me.

Sleeve has discoloration in the white areas as expected with age, some wear to the edges, with light lamination cracking. Lower left corner has a decent size bend. Disc impression on the back.

Given the rarity of this album, this copy might be appealing to anyone willing to give it a chance, or forgo playing the first few minutes in order to enjoy the rest.

Caravan – Waterloo Lily | VG/G+ | $30
Deram ‎– SDL 8 | Original UK Pressing with Brown/White Labels

Vinyl has numerous light hairlines throughout, but no large scratches. Will play with some noise / Labels have spindle marks / Sleeve has price sticker in UR, writing in both sharpie and ballpoint on UL, some heavy creasing and indentations on the front. Spine has about 4″ split.

Egg – The Civil Surface | VG++/VG | $45
Caroline Records ‎– C 1510 | Original UK Pressing | EJD on Back Cover

Vinyl has a number of faint hairlines, bright and shiny gloss, no large marks. (I’ve had a few copies of this, and it isn’t the best pressing – even flawless NM records will play with some surface noise in the quiet parts, in my experience) / Sleeve has some ringwear, edgewear, some light creasing and a few indentations. Slight discoloration at the top and bottom edges of the back.

The Ghoulies – Dogged By Dogma | SEALED/EX | $40
Lounging Records ‎– LA01 | Original UK Pressing

Shrink is not tight, so I think there’s little risk of any warping / Sleeve has faint disc impression.

For those not in the know, this is a great Canterbury-inspired album in a pop/rock/jazz vein featuring Dave Stewart and Pip Pyle. It’s not The Rotter’s Club, but it’s damn good for what it is.

Hatfield and the North – Hatfield and the North | SEALED | $30
Virgin – OVED 131 | 1980s UK Pressing

Shrink is not tight at all. Red/Green Virgin labels from the early 80s.

Jethro Tull – Songs from the Wood | VG/VG | $2
Chrysalis Records – PV 41132 | Later 1977 US Pressing

Vinyl has a number of sleeve scuffs across most of the surface, hairlines, and a few larger marks. Plays with a bit of noise, but still enjoyable / Sleeve has wear to edges and corners, some creases along the edges, some chipping at the spine. Light disc impressions, and price sticker on front.

Phil Manzanera – K-Scope | EX/VG+ | $4
Polydor, EG PD-1-6178 | 1978 US Pressing

Vinyl would be NM aside from a pressing defect bubble on the A side and a faint sleeve scuff on the B side, very bright and shiny gloss / Sleeve has light wear, mostly at the corners. A small dent at the opening.

Popol Vuh – Aguirre | VG++/VG+ | $40
Kosmische Musik ‎– KK 20 21275-8 | 1982 Pop Import German Pressing

Vinyl super glossy, just a few sleeve scuffs and a hairline or two, really closer to EX / Sleeve would be EX but for a larger crease/bend at the bottom right.

Still Available from the First Catalogue Sale

Airlord – Clockwork Revenge | NM/EX | $30
Nexus International ‎K25P-411 | 1983 Japanese RE | Has insert, No OBI

Vinyl is a beautiful NM, looks barely played / Sleeve has very faint wear at the corners. There seems to be a bit of rubbing wear, but it actually looks to be from the copy they photographed for the reissue, and not actually this sleeve.

Camel – Mirage | VG++/VG++ | $30
Deram ‎K19P-9050 | 1980 Japanese Pressing | Includes OBI, but no insert

Vinyl has some hairlines and light marks, mostly on side two / Sleeve shows light wear, but a fairly large crease in the lower left (this shows through on both sides, was bent when vinyl was out of sleeve).

Corte dei Miracoli – Corte dei Miracoli | EX/VG+ | MAKE AN OFFER
Grog Records GRL 04 | Original Italian Pressing

Ok, this one is truly special. I purchased this album SEALED and after much deliberation, I have broken the shrink and opened it to be able to give it the most accurate listing possible. It has never been played by me. As you may know, most European albums in the 70s were not sold sealed, and this was likely sealed when it arrived at a US distributor.

I have taken an unboxing video of me opening it and pictures of it sealed are at the end of the listed photos. You can view the video here.

This item will require insured Priority mail shipping, both domestic and international, or single carrier service such as FedEx/UPS. Please be aware before bidding.

I am calling this EX simply because it is a rare and expensive album and I would rather undergrade. Most others would call this NM. There is a hairline or two, and some sleeve scuffs from the paper sleeve. I put it on my turntable to confirm that there is only a mild warp that should not affect play / The sleeve I am calling VG+ as it has become wavy on front and back from being sealed. There is slight wear to some of the corners, and a scrape on the spine (not a cut-out). The inside gatefold and labels are pristine. I have placed the record in a new poly innersleeve.

As mentioned above, I understand this item to be an unplayed archive copy, as I purchased it sealed. The condition is to be expected from being sealed for 39 years. This is a one-of-a-kind item in 2016!

Egg – The Civil Surface | VG++/VG++ | $50
Caroline C 1510 | Original UK Pressing (with EJD credit on back cover)

Vinyl has a few light hairlines with one more noticeable mark, plays with surface noise in the quieter parts and a few pops on the second side. (Caroline pressings are notoriously noisy, unfortunately) / Sleeve has some light wear overall, creasing in lower right corner, small bit of an abrasion at upper center.

England – Garden Shed | EX/VG++ | $50
Arista ERS-28024 | 1989 Japanese RE | with Insert, No OBI

Vinyl has a few faint hairlines, almost NM / Textured sleeve shows some light wear, a few light creases, a few indentations, faint disc impression. This is a needle-drop, as it plays with some surface noise in parts, but not because of the condition of this record. I’ve heard a few Edison from this period, and they all seem to be needle-drops.
