Sealed, direct from the label. Limited edition of 200. One of the finest retro-prog acts out there, Agusa are the successor to Kama Loka and continue in a similar vein of psychedelic and folk influenced prog with touches of Flasket Brinner and International Harvester.

Kommun 2 – KOMMUN2-33 | BLUE WAX

Sealed, direct from the label. Limited edition 176/200

Älgarnas Trädgård ‎– Framtiden Är Ett Svävande Skepp, Förankrat I Forntiden | VG++/VG+ | $75
Silence ‎– SRS 4611 | 1989 Swedish Repress

Vinyl has some hairlines, sleeve scuffs and a few smaller marks, nice and clean overall / Sleeve has edgewear with cracking of black at corners mostly. Some creases, heavier at the top right. Some discoloration on the inside of the sleeve.

Comparing this to my early 80s repress, it looks identical aside from the color of the label. I am assuming that all three pressings used the original stampers. This is the best way to get the sound of the original at a fraction of the price. Free your mind.

Änglagård ‎– Epilog | VG/VG | $60
Gates Of Dawn ‎– GOD 002 | Original Pressing

Vinyl has a number of hairlines and sleeve scuffs, and some smaller scratches. Nothing is raised, but these areas will play with some noise. Fairly clean and shiny overall, this has a lot of life left in it, and isn’t trashed at all / Sleeve would be close to VG++ with just some small corner dings, but the booklet is missing and has left some tear marks on the inside of the gatefold. There is also ~ 3 inch seam split on the top of the back panel.

Änglagård ‎– Epilog | NM/VG+ | $200
Gates Of Dawn ‎– GOD 002 | Original Pressing | with Booklet and Insert

Absolutely stunning record, the vinyl looks Mint; a perfect copy / Sleeve has light edgewear, a spot of discoloration and some light rubbing on the reverse. A larger corner bump with crease on the bottom of the spine / Insert and booklet both NM.

You be hard pressed to find the record in better condition. It also sounds incredible with true dynamic range. This really is the cream of the crop.

Arbete och Fritid – Arbete och Fritid | VG/VG+ | $50
MNW – 39P| Original Swedish Pressing

Vinyl has some hairlines and some paper sleeve scuffs. A few smaller marks as well. It plays with some crackle in the quiet parts, but nothing overwhelming / Sleeve has light wear, some faint ringwear, light creasing at the edges. Some indentations on the cover, visible in a raking light.

One of my favorite albums from Scandinavia, this is the apotheosis of of the dirgy, grungy, minimal psychedelic side of the folk axis of Trad Gras och Stenar, Harvester, Pärson Sound, and the jazzy rock side of Flasket Brinner or Kebnekaise. A wonderful melding of traditional folk in a diverse range of styles.

Arbete och Fritid – Arbete och Fritid | VG++/VG+ | $70
MNW – 39P | Original Swedish Pressing

Vinyl has a few light marks, some hairlines, and larger paper sleeve scuffs. Plays with the occasional tick / A side label has library stamp / Sleeve has light creasing at the edges, heavier creasing in the lower right, some faint edgewear. Faint disc impression.

Archimedes Badkar – Badrock För Barn I Alla Åldrar | VG/VG | $85
MNW – 53P | Original Swedish Pressing | Missing insert

Vinyl bright and glossy, has a number of hairlines and sleeve scuffs, and some larger marks. It plays much better than it looks, with occasional ticks and light surface noise. The B side has a larger mark at the beginning that makes some noise for a very short while and then calms down nicely / Sleeve has a good deal of wear, a good amount of creases at the right hand side. Some ringwear as well.

Archimedes Badkar – Badrock För Barn I Alla Åldrar | VG+/VG++ | $120
MNW – 53P | Original Swedish Pressing | with Insert

Vinyl has paper scuffs, some hairlines, and a few minor marks, but still bright and glossy. Plays really well with occasional faint noise / Sleeve has minor wear, some light creases at edges, faint beginning of ringwear.

A fascinating combination of ethnic and Swedish folk music blended through a jazz-rock prism. Cosmic, otherworldly, but also earthy and playful. They can be seen as the other side of the coin to Kebnekaise’s blues based folk jamming, with a more virtuoso approach. One of my all-time favorites.

Archimedes Badkar – Tre | VG/VG | $40
MNW – 78P | Original Swedish Pressing

Vinyl is still glossy, but has a number of marks. Mostly a number of hairlines, but there are a few non-raised scratches on the A side that play through with just some faint clicks. Overall it plays much better than it looks / A side label has “99” written in sharpie / Sleeve is rather thin to begin with, and suffers more from some ringwear. Edgewear, especially on the spine. A number of smaller creases throughout, a larger one across the lower right corner. Sticker residue under the “KAR” on right of cover.

A different side of Swedish experimental folk, their third album saw Badkar leaning towards more out Jazz African and tribal percussion, but still utilized unforgettable Swedish folk melodies.

Berits Halsband – Berits Halsband | VG+/VG+ | $110
Forsaljud ‎– FOL LP 1 | Original Swedish Pressing | with Original Printed Inner

Vinyl has a number of hairlines, and a larger mark on the beginning of side two that doesn’t cause too much noise. Still glossy, but will play with a small bit of crackle in the quiet parts. But the majority of the record is loud enough not to hear anything else. A pretty damn decent play copy of this incredible album / Sleeve is a bit flimsy and white, so hard to avoid some common pitfalls: slight discoloration, a bit of ringwear, some light abrasions to the already rough cardboard. Discoloration from a sticker at the upper left of the cover.

Imagine Kebnekaise and Flasket Brinner channeling electric Miles. Seriously. It’s as good as it sounds. Top notch jazz-rock as played through the lens of ethnic Swedish folk melody. One of those grail albums that really opened up the world of record collecting for me.

Fantasia ‎– Fantasia | NM/NM | $22
Mellotron Records ‎– Mlp014 | ORANGE WAX

Unplayed, copies came unsealed direct from the distributor. Limited edition of 100.

This is one of my favorite discoveries of the past few years. Smoking symphonic fusion/jazz-rock in the vein of Finnforest.

Finnforest – Finnforest | VG/VG+ | $50
Love Records – LRLP 136 | Original Finnish Pressing

Vinyl would be EX, but there is a bit of ghosting at the beginning of each side from a previous PVC inner. There’s some crackle in the affected areas for the first few minutes of each side, but it evens out after that with minor surface noise here and there / Sleeve is fairly crisp, just some minor wear to corners and edges. Discolored patch at the lower left spine, and some minor abrasions here at there.

Finnforest – Finnforest | VG++/VG++ | $70
Love Records – LRLP 136 | Original Finnish Pressing | with Original Printed Inner

Vinyl is in really nice condition with just a few hairlines overall. Side two has a larger mark that doesn’t affect play for me. There’s some occasional noise, it seems like this isn’t the best of pressings / Sleeve shows some light wear, beginning of ringwear and some edgewear, but pretty nice overall.

Finnforest – Ketto / Tekee Meisseliä (7″) | EX/VG+ | MAKE OFFER
Love Records – LRLP 136 | Original Finnish Pressing

Vinyl is in really nice condition with just a few slight marks / Sleeve shows disc impression.

Here’s a super rare single that I decided to throw in just for fun. I’m not actually sure that I want to pass it on just yet, but make me an offer and see if I’m willing to part with it.

Flasket Brinner – Flasket Brinner  | G/VG | $20
Silence ‎– SRS 4606 | Original Swedish Pressing

Unfortunately the vinyl is pretty well jacked. Covered in hairlines and marks, with some larger scratches. None are raised, and it will play through with no problem, and while it isn’t really a roaring campfire, it will remind you of bacon frying. There are even some small chips of the vinyl missing from a small section of the edge. / Labels have spindle marks / Sleeve is not too bad, some wear to the edges and chipping here and there, some abrasions and creases. There was some tape holding the bottom seam together, but it has come off and I repaired it properly.

So, while this isn’t that great to play, it is a first pressing with heavy vinyl, dark yellow labels and a laminated cover. A filler copy if you really want the OG.

Flasket Brinner – Flasket Brinner  | VG+/VG | $75
Silence ‎– SRS 4606 | Second Swedish Pressing

Vinyl mostly has some light scuffs and harilines. A larger mark on side two doesn’t affect play that much / Labels have some printing defect with overlapping print / Sleeve shows heavy wear; lots of edgewear and some strong ringwear. Sticker residue at upper right, some indentations and abrasions.

Lighter weight wax, probably late 70s RP, preceding the Kultwax sticker.

Haikara – Haikara | NM/NM | $30
Mayfair Music – MFM 008 | 2010 German RE

Purchased new and played a few times. Limited to 500. Might as well still be sealed.

Finnish folk meets King Crimson meets Van der Graaf Generator. This actually sounds like the cover looks. A masterpiece!

Bo Hansson – Sagan om Ringen  | VG++/VG+ | $30
Silence ‎– SRS 4600 | Second or Third Swedish Pressing with Orange text on reverse

Vinyl in very nice condition with only a few faint hairlines / Sleeve has some light wear, some creases, and some wear to the black on the back of the cover.

Thematic music from another world, this evokes Tolkien and beyond, which incredible soundscapes and psych touches. One of my favorite Silence covers as well!

Bo Hansson – Sagan om Ringen  | VG+/VG+ | $22
Silence ‎– SRS 4600 | Later Swedish Pressing with CAS matrix

Vinyl has a number of light scuffs and hairlines, and plays with some surface noise / A side label torn a bit at the center / Sleeve has some edgewear, light creases at edge, sticker at upper right of cover. A slightly larger zig-zag crease in the center of the back cover.

This is a post 1971 pressing with the international Charisma Records matrix stamped in the deadwax.

Holy River Family Band ‎– Welcome To Riverhouse… An Abbreviated Journey | Sealed/NM | $13
Gates Of Dawn ‎– GOD 004 | Original US Pressing

Sleeve has the faintest of shelf wear that I can see through plastic.

Kaamos – Deeds and Talks | VG+/VG | $85
M & T Production ‎– MTLP-7 | Original Finnish Pressing with Insert

Vinyl has hairlines and sleeve scuffs, but no major marks. A nice clean copy / Sleeve has edgewear and some creasing. Small ~2 inch seam splits at both top and bottom of rear gatefold. Insert has some creasing.

Kama Loka – Kama Loka | SEALED | $30
Kommun 2 ‎– K2-22 |

Sealed, direct from the label. Limited edition.

One of the best retro-prog albums I’ve heard, period. That perfect blend of psych, prog and Swedish folk, this recalls the best of bands like Flasket Brinner and Kebnekaise.

Kebnekaise – Resa Mot Okänt Mål | VG+/VG | $45
Silence – SRS 4605 | Original Swedish Pressing

Vinyl bright and glossy, has a number of sleeve scuffs and light hairlines / Sleeve shows a deal of wear with edges and ringwear especially. A fair amount of creasing, and a ~1 inch seam split at the top. I’ve had a number of copies of this, and all my sleeves have shown similar wear.

Kebnekaise – II  | VG+/VG+ | $35
Silence – SRS 4618 | Late 70s Swedish Pressing

Vinyl has a number of hairlines and some sleeve scuffs, but is still glossy. Will play with occasional surface noise / Sleeve is in decent condition and shows some edgewear, light creasing and some abrasions. Printing defect leaves a larger crease halfway up at the opening on the cover.

Slightly lighter wax, this is likely a second pressing.

Kebnekaise – III (Innehåll) | VG/VG | $25
Silence – SRS 4629 | Original Swedish Pressing

Vinyl has a number of hairlines and some scuffs, it plays with some background noise. A larger non-raised mark on side two clicks for a few revolutions / Sleeve shows edgewear, a good number of small creases, heavier on the reverse. Heavy bend/crease at the top right corner. Store/distribution sticker on the back, lower right.

Heavy vinyl first pressing.

Myrbein – Myrornas Krig | VG++/VG++ | $80
LFM 001 | Original Private Pressing (including insert)

Vinyl bright and glossy, has some light hairlines and marks, some paper scuffs / Sleeve shows a bit of creasing, light discoloration.

Myrbein – Myrornas Krig | VG++/VG+ | $70
LFM 001 | Original Private Pressing (including insert)

Vinyl has some light hairlines and marks, some paper scuffs. Side one has a larger mark that DNAP for me. Occasional surface noise in quiet parts / Sleeve has some edge wear, discoloration, light ringwear, sticker residue.

myrbeinmyrbein_reverse

Nynningen – Äntligen En Ny Dag | VG/G+ | $3
Nacksving ‎– 031- 4 | Original Swedish Pressing

Vinyl has a number of sleeve scuffs, hairlines, and some larger marks. Will play with noise / Sleeve has a good deal of edgewear, ringwear, and a small gouge just under the sun on the cover.

Lisa O Piu  | VG++/NM | $7
Subliminal Sounds – SUB-071-LP

Vinyl as new, played a few times, has some light scuffs and hairlines from production / Sleeve still in shrink with little discernible wear.

Great modern psych-folk in the vein of Turid, Vashti Bunyan, Linda Perhacs, etc. with a distinct Nordic flair.

Oak – Beyond Oblivion | SEALED | $20
The Electricity Recording Company ‎– ELPS-203

Sealed, direct from the label. Limited edition

Pekka Pohjola – The Mathematician’s Air Display | VG++/VG++ | $10
Virgin ‎V 2084 | Original UK Pressing

Pekka Pohjola ‎– Keesojen Lehto | SEALED | $23
Svart Records – SVR323 | BROWN WAX

Sealed, direct from the label. Limited edition

Psynkopat – Har Vi Någon Stil | EX/VG | $40
Mistlur ‎– MLR 3 | Original Swedish Pressing

Vinyl with just barely a faint mark or two / Sleeve has some light corner bends/creases, faint disc outline, 2” seam split at bottom. There’s a line down the center, almost like someone used a blade to open the mailer, and it was lightly scored
Insert has some minor creasing

Saluki – Saluki | VG/VG+ | $35
Compendium Records ‎– FIDARDO 6 | Original Norwegian Pressing

Vinyl would be closer to EX with just some minor hairlines and scuffs, but there is a small zig-zag scratch at the beginning of side two. It will cause some clicks for the first minute or so / Sleeve has a decent amount of edgewear and some ringwear. A small chip in the spine.

Samla Mammas Manna – Samla Mammas Manna | VG++/VG+ | $70
Silence ‎– SRS 4604 | Late 70s Swedish Repress

Vinyl has some hairlines and paper scuffs, nothing major. Bright and shiny, but will have the occasional pop or click / Sleeve has edgewear and light ringwear, as to be expected with a black sleeve of this age. Some light creases as well.

Samla Mammas Manna – Måltid | VG/VG+ | $25
Silence – SRS 4621 | Original Swedish Pressing

Vinyl has a large amount of hairlines, sleeve scuffs and smaller marks. Nothing raised, but will play with some crackle / Sleeve has edgewear, faint ringwear and the occasional crease.

Samla Mammas Manna – Klossa Knapitatet | VG+/VG+ | $35
Silence – SRS 4627 | Original Swedish Pressing | Missing inner

Vinyl has hairlines and paper scuffs. I just played this the other day and it plays better than it looks, with just some occasional noise on the B side / Sleeve shows a little wear, mostly to the corners and edges. Some light abrasions. Of course a bit of discoloration as to be expected with a white sleeve.

Honestly, it depends on my mood, but this is often my favorite out of the Samla/Zamla axis of amazing music created through the 70s/early 80s. This sees them at their most jazz-rock, with less of the slightly psychedelic and Zappa influences of the earlier albums, moving into a more complex direction that would inaugurate them as one of the first RIO bands at the 1978 festival. A masterpiece that conveys both their humor and ambition, and the reason they will always be at the top of my Avant-prog pantheon.

Secret Oyster ‎– Astarte | VG+/G | $16
CBS ‎– 81208 | Second Danish Pressing

Vinyl has a number of faint hairlines, but still super glossy as if it’s only been played a few times / Sleeve on the other hand has issues: Edge and corner wear to the black, but most notably water damage at the bottom that has caused some tears. There is a small tear at the right near the opening, and one from sticker removal on the back. Also has a Peters distribution sticker on reverse.

Svenska Löd AB ‎– Hörselmat | VG+/NM | $50
Buben ‎– BUBLP002 | 2011 Swedish RE

Vinyl as new, has some hairlines and paper scuffs from production / Sleeve shows faint signs of wear.

Hand numbered 339 of 1000 limited RE that is now fairly scarce. Great funky, fiery fusion.

Sveriges Kommuner Och Landsting ‎– Orosvisor| VG++/NM | $20
Kommun 2 – KOMMUN 2:8

Vinyl is unplayed and as new, has a few light marks and scuffs / Sleeve shows faint signs of wear.

The precursor to Kama Loka and Agusa, this recalls the best of the mesmerising and hypnotic psychedelic drenched hippie rock of Pärson Sound and Trad, Gras och Stenar.

Thule – Natt | VG++/VG+ | $45
Colours ‎– COSLP 002 | Original Norwegian Pressing | Missing booklet

Vinyl has a few light marks. There are a few larger ones on the A side, but it plays without incident. I can see some small bubbles in the wax, so there might be a bit of surface noise at times / Sleeve mostly shows some light creases, a few corner bumps and light edgewear.

Thule are one of the overlooked bands that helped spark the 90s revival along with Anglagard, Sinkadus, and Landberk.

Trettioåriga Kriget ‎– Trettioåriga Kriget | VG/VG+ | $85
Epic ‎– EPC 80220 | Original Swedish Pressing | with Printed inner

Vinyl has some hairlines and scuffs, and a number of very large, odd marks that trace the grooves. Thankfully these really don’t affect play that much, with only some occasional noise during playback throughout. It plays a lot better than it looks for me / Sleeve shows light wear to edges and corners. It’s mostly ringwear/discoloration on both the front and back that is a blemish to the white cover / Printed inner has splits on all seams, some creasing.

Heavy and propulsive while also being highly melodic, there’s a reason this is considered by most to be one of the best Swedish prog albums. Bouncy yet fuzzy bass, cutting guitar, vocals to match any Italian prog album, and the obligatory mellotron. A seminal influence of all the revival bands of the early 90s, especially Anglagard, Anekdoten, and Landberk.

Trettioåriga Kriget ‎– Trettioåriga Kriget | VG++/VG++ | $110
Epic ‎– EPC 80220 | Original Swedish Pressing | with Printed inner

Vinyl has sleeve scuffs, a few hairlines, and two areas with light scratches that barely produce noise when played through / Sleeve shows mostly some faint abrasions, light discoloration on the cover. The back has a bit of discoloration/ringwear / Printed inner only has a small seam split at the bottom.

Trettioåriga Kriget ‎– Krigssång | VG+/G+ | $35
CBS – 80900 | Original Swedish/Dutch? Pressing | with Original inner

Vinyl nice and glossy, has a few hairlines and some small marks that shouldn’t be too annoying / Sleeve shows heavy edge and corner wear, some creasing, indentations and a sticker on the front / Inner sleeve has some light wear, more like VG+

Like most Pac Man CBS pressings of the time, this was pressed in Holland, but it has Swedish NCB credits. I’m not sure if there are actually two distinct pressings, one Swedish and one Dutch, but either way, this is an OG.

Turid – Bilder | VG+/VG+ | $45
Silence – SRS 4616 | Original Swedish Pressing | Missing insert

Vinyl has sleeve scuffs, some light marks and a number of hairlines. The rather delicate music won’t hide the occasional bit of noise, unfortunately / Sleeve shows light corner and edgewear. As to be expected, the white cover shows discoloration and ring wear. Sticker residue on front, and remaining sticker on reverse.

Turid gets unfairly listed among the holy grails of acid drenched psych folk. While there’s certainly a psych folk element here, I always think of her as the Joni Mitchell of Sweden (doesn’t hurt that track three is a Joni adaptation). Greatly melodic and accompanied by many luminaries of the Silence stable such as Kenny Håkansson, this shouldn’t be overlooked.

Turid – Tredje Dagen | VG+/VG+ | $25
Silence ‎– SRS 4628 | Original Swedish Pressing | with Lyric booklet

Vinyl has paper scuffs, hairlines and a few light marks. Will play with a bit of noise / Sleeve has some edgewear, wear to corners and a bit of ringwear. Some light creases, and one larger one on the reverse.

Ur Kaos – A Terrible Beauty is Born | EX/VG++ | $25
Bauta Records ‎– BAR 9002 | Original Swedish Pressing | with Insert

Vinyl has one or two hairlines, a faint mark or two / Sleeve shows faint signs of wear, price sticker on back.

Von Zamla ‎– Zamlaranamma | EX/VG+ | $27
Urspår ‎– URS 10 | Original Swedish Pressing

Vinyl has just a few light marks, in great glossy condition / Sleeve shows some edgewear, light creasing. There is cracking/beginning of a split on the top edge. Kultvax sticker on front.

Von Zamla ‎– Zamlaranamma | VG++/VG | $20
Urspår ‎– URS 10 | Original Swedish Pressing

Vinyl has some light marks, a large scuff on the A side that doesn’t affect play for me / Labels have radio station stamps / Sleeve has a decent amount of edgewear, creasing, orange sticker across spine on both sides, import sticker on cover. Back has tear from sticker removal, radio station stamp, mild ringwear.

Wigwam – Being | VG++/VG++ | $75
Love Records – LRLP 92 | Single Sleeve Second Pressing | Missing inner

Vinyl has some paper scuffs and hairlines, a few light marks. Plays with some light surface noise, occasional click / Sleeve has light ringwear, light corner wear, price sticker UR, store sticker on reverse LR. Nice and crisp with lamination intact.

Zamla Mammaz Manna ‎– Schlagerns Mystik / För Äldre Nybegynnare | VG++/VG++ | $35
Silence ‎– SRS 4640 | Original Swedish Pressing

Both records have a few hairlines and a smaller mark or two, very clean / Sleeve shows some light edgewear, faint discoloration, and sticker residue on the cover, near the right edge.

Zamla Mammaz Manna – Lejonet Av Ljuga ‎(7″) | VG+/VG+ | $25
Svenska Love Records ‎– SLs 1 | Original Swedish Pressing

Vinyl has some hairlines and paper scuffs, a few light marks / Sleeve has some creasing.

This one’s a really cool collector’s item. Zamla does reggae!

Zut Un Feu Rouge ‎– Who’s Afreud | VG++/VG+ | $33
Bauta Records ‎– BAR 8501 | Original Swedish Pressing | with Insert

Vinyl has paper scuffs, a hairline or two / Sleeve has edgewear and some light creases. Black cover shows ringwear easily.
